Kid Life in Edinburgh

As long as they manage not to trip on the Cobblestones, kids will love Edinburgh.  The museums are mostly free, so when they get bored you can leave without feeling shortchanged.  Restaurants are very tourist-orientated and are used to dealing with fussy youngsters.  Just remember the rain gear – wet children are cranky children!

Several Things for Kids to Do in Edinburgh

Here’s a few fun tips to give them a fun Edinburgh experience:

  • Take ‘em to Camera Obscura.  They’ll be dazzled by all the crazy and fun experiments and experiences.
  • From the top of the Royal Mile to the bottom, check out Our Dynamic Earth.  Who knew science could be so fun?
  • For foodie fun, go to the elephant café.  From tea and cakes to full meals, they’ll have everything the family needs – even a beer for dad or a glass of wine for mom.  Oh, and there is elephant shortbread – what else do you need?
  • Go for a walk.  The Water of Leith is a relaxing stroll, or if you can get them up the hill, Calton Hill is a nice place to wander around while enjoying the view.
